Privacy Policy

Overview
Pulse ("we", "us", or "our") is an AI-powered trading psychology coaching service. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. We will never sell your personal information to third parties.
Data We Collect
- Account information — Your name and email address, provided when you sign in with Google or Discord.
- Conversation history — Messages you exchange with Pulse, including trading journal entries, emotional check-ins, and coaching responses. This is the core of the service — Pulse cannot remember your patterns without it.
- Usage data — Basic information about how you use the app (pages visited, features used). We use this to improve the product.
- Channel identifiers — If you connect Discord, we store your platform user ID to deliver check-ins.
- Trading session data — P&L, trade counts, and session notes you optionally share during conversations. This data is extracted from your messages to build your pattern profile.
- Broker account data (optional) — If you choose to connect a Tradovate or NinjaTrader® account via OAuth, Pulse receives access to your account balance, daily P&L, open P&L, drawdown percentage, and trade fills. If you enable Risk Shield, Pulse may also adjust risk settings (such as daily loss limits) on your behalf — you can disable or override this at any time in your account settings. We store an encrypted copy of your OAuth access token to maintain the connection. We never receive custody of funds, never execute trades, and never share this data with third parties. You can disconnect your broker account at any time from within the app.
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used exclusively to provide and improve the Pulse coaching experience:
- Generating personalized AI coaching responses
- Building your behavioral pattern profile over time
- Delivering scheduled check-ins via your chosen channel
- Producing your weekly trading psychology report
- Monitoring broker account drawdown and P&L to provide real-time risk awareness coaching (if broker account is connected)
- Detecting potential crisis situations and responding appropriately
- Improving the Pulse product (aggregated, anonymized usage data only)
AI & Third-Party Services
Pulse relies on third-party AI services to deliver coaching. Below is a summary of what data is sent to each AI provider, why, and how it is handled:
- Anthropic (Claude AI) — Your chat messages and relevant conversation context are sent to Anthropic's API to generate personalized coaching responses. No personally identifiable information (name, email, or account details) is included in these requests. Anthropic does not use your data to train its models when accessed via the API. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to data processed by their service.
- Hume AI (voice) — When you use voice features, the text of AI coaching responses is sent to Hume AI's text-to-speech API to generate spoken audio. Only the AI-generated response text is sent — your original messages, name, email, and other personally identifiable information are never shared with Hume AI. Hume AI's privacy policy applies to data processed by their service.
We also use the following services to operate Pulse: Google, Discord, and Apple (OAuth authentication), Stripe (payment processing), and Railway / Vercel (infrastructure hosting). Each service processes only the minimum data required for its function.
Broker integration (Tradovate / NinjaTrader®): If you connect a broker account, Pulse communicates with Tradovate's API using your OAuth access token to retrieve account snapshots and trade fills. This data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored in our database. Tradovate's own privacy policy governs data held on their platform. Pulse's access is limited to monitoring and, if Risk Shield is enabled, adjusting risk settings (such as daily loss limits) — you can disable or override this at any time in your account settings. We never place orders, open or close positions, or withdraw funds. Your OAuth token is stored encrypted using AES-256-GCM and is never exposed outside our backend.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. Your data is shared with third parties only as necessary to operate the service:
- Anthropic — receives your chat messages to generate AI coaching responses (no personally identifiable information is sent)
- Hume AI — receives AI response text to generate spoken audio for voice features (no user data or personally identifiable information is sent)
- Stripe — processes payment information for paid subscriptions
Each third-party provider is contractually required to handle your data securely and use it only for the purpose of providing their service to Pulse. We require that all third parties provide the same or equivalent data protection as described in this policy.
Data Retention
Your account data and conversation history are retained for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Export your conversation history

Security
We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls on our infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as Pulse evolves. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notice before the changes take effect.
